W.W.A. Chairman's Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Whilst most people were enjoying a lazy Bank Holiday weekend, W.W.A. Chairman Mark Shaw, his wife Sharon, and a few friends had decided on a more adventurous activity by taking on the 24.5 mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of the W.W.A's Land Fund and Help for Heroes Charity. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge has to be completed in 12 hours or under and involves the ascent of Pen-Y-Ghent (691 metres), Whernside (728 metres) and finally Ingleborough (723 metres).  Mark and his wife completed the Challenge in nine and a half gruelling hours. Shawy said it was one of the most exhausting things he had ever done. The W.W.A. offers its congratulations to both of them and extends its thanks to all who donated sponsorship money. If any member still has sponsorship forms and money to hand in please contact Mark as soon as possible.
