WWA Spreading the Conservation Message

Members of the Westmorland Wildfowlers Association did us proud on 31st July-2nd August and 15th-16th August 2015 promoting Wildfowlers and Wildfowling in the BASC’s marquee’s at the CLA Harewood House and at Lowther Country Show. The Committee would like to express its gratitude to David Coward for organising the display stands on both occasions. He worked extremely hard to set up the WWA displays the day before each show and ensured a brilliant wildfowling stand was displayed. His home built dummy wildfowler, wildfowling hide and pond attracted the attention of the passing crowds. The dogs loved his water filled pool containing the mallard decoys and surrounding nest tubes. As well as David, we would like to express thanks to Mark Shaw, Gordon Harrop, David Terrey, Keith and Dan Sharpe, Mark Shepherd for manning the stand at the CLA. Stotty designed two new WWA show display boards and thanks must go to BASC’s Steve Bloomfield for arranging their production on printed display boards.  At Lowther thanks go to Gordon Harrop, Andy and Matt Burrow as well as Jack Taylor for their assistance on the stand. It was great to be there with members of the South Solway Wildfowlers Association. http://www.southsolwaywildfowlers.co.uk/

Richard and Jack Depledge (WWA members) also did a fine job on the BASC stand at the shows representing the BASC Young Ambassadors. The prize draw of a weekends shooting was drawn at Lowther and has been contacted.  A fantastic total of £1,035 was made from this raffle which will be fed back into the WWA’s conservation work. Thanks to all who supported us and came to the stand for a chat.
