Westmorland WA win the Prestigious Stanley Duncan Award

The BASC have awarded the Westmorland Wildfowlers Association the prestigious Stanley Duncan Award for 2015. Chairman Mark Shaw and Secretary Andy Stott were invited to the BASC Annual General Meeting in Stirling on the 13th June 2015 to receive the award from the 15th Earl of Home, Lord Home, President of BASC.

This is a real honour and huge achievement for the club. It is a first in the WWA's  65 year history, so it really is a momentous occasion to be recognised for our extensive conservation work on the River Kent estuary, South Cumbria.  This includes creation of new wetlands, public anti disturbance signs, mallard nesting sites, provision of sanctuary areas, supplementary feeding of wildfowl in hard weather, our recent WHT purchase of new land at Tarney Bank Tarn and the huge amounts of conservation work that is being carried out on the WWA's syndicate shoots. A huge thanks to all members past and present who have volunteered their effort and time in contributing to the W.W.A. winning this prestigious award!
