W.W.A. Clay Pigeon Event

 

We had seventy eight entrants for the Westmorland Wildfowlers Association's annual 50 bird sporting clay pigeon event hosted by Trevor and Julie Wright of ‘Wrights Leisure’ Paintball/Clay ground near Warton. http://www.wrightsleisure.co.uk 
It was encouraging to see good support from the WWA membership including a good turn out by our young shots and several lady guns. A lot of 'non members' competed for the 'Open' Shoot prizes. Thanks go to The Sporting Lodge http://www.thesportinglodge.co.uk/ for supplying £100 worth of vouchers for the 4 man team flush competition. and to  Malmo Guns for further sponsorship prizes. Les Chaplow took charge of the BBQ and  Ian Valentine did a fine job at the main desk, taking the money, issuing score cards. Thanks to Ian Robinson for selling the raffle tickets. Over £800 was made on the day which will go towards paying off our Land Purchase at Tarney Bank Tarn.

WWA Senior winner was Matt Dixon Winning Young Shot was Jason Wright and Open Winner was Trevor Farrer. Top 4 man flush team comprised of Mark Shaw, Paul Bond, Trevor Farrer and Matt Dixon. Congratulations to all the prize winners! Most of all, we hope everyone enjoyed themselves on the day, had a good day with friends and we hope to see you all next year.
